Eligibility Criteria For The Anglo American Platinum Bursary

The following are the minimum requirements for the bursary programme. If you do not meet the minimum requirements your application will not be considered.
  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be between the ages of 18 to 25 years old
  • You must have completed Matric in 2019, 2020 or 2021
  • You must be studying or intend on studying towards a qualification within one of the fields listed above, in 2022
  • You must be studying or have been conditionally accepted to study at a recognised and accredited public or private tertiary institution (including Universities, Colleges and TVET Colleges) in South Africa
  • You must reside within a host community of one of these Anglo American Platinum’s operations: Amandelbult Complex, Der Brochen/ Mototolo Complex, Mogalakwena Complex, Polokwane Metallurgical Complex, Rustenburg Process operations, Twickenham Project
  • Preference will be given to students from vulnerable groups (including orphans and vulnerable children, unemployed households, child-headed households and vulnerable youth)

Documents Required For The Anglo American Platinum Bursary

The following documents are required for the bursary programme and must be submitted along with your application. If you do not submit the documents required your application will not be considered.
  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Full academic record, including most recent results, if currently studying (on institutions letterhead)
  • Proof of acceptance/ conditional acceptance (on institutions letterhead)
  • Proof of residence: stamped and signed letters from traditional councils or relevant local municipalities
  • Parents or guardians proof of income (proof of SASSA grant, if applicable or affidavit if you fall into one of these vulnerable groups listed above)
  • Answers to 3 essay questions: about yourself, your family and your background; why do wish to study your chosen programme, and how do you think it will further your career; why you should be awarded the bursary maximum 500 words each) (to be completed on the online application)
