The following fields are covered by the bursary programme:

  • Computer Science / Information Technology / Informatics (BSc / BCom)
  • Electrical Engineering (BEng / BSc (Eng))
  • Electrical Engineering / Process Instrumentation (BEngTech / National Diploma)
  • Industrial Engineering (BEng / BSc (Eng))
  • Mechanical Engineering (BEng / BSc (Eng))
  • Mechanical Engineering / Process Instrumentation (BEngTech / National Diploma)
  • Physical Metallurgy / Material Science (BEng / BSc (Eng))

Eligibility Criteria For The Columbus Stainless Bursary Programme

In order to be considered for the bursary programme, the following are the minimum requirements for the bursary. If you do not meet the requirements your application will NOT BE CONSIDERED.

  • You must have completed Matric
  • You must be studying towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above
  • Computer Science / Information Technology / Informatics Bursary: You must be studying towards a BSc or BCom qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or Informatics and entering your 2nd year of study in 2023
  • Electrical Engineering Bursary: You must be studying towards a BEng or BSc (Eng) qualification in Electrical Engineering and entering your 3rd year of study in 2023
  • Electrical Engineering Bursary: You must be studying towards a National Diploma qualification in Process Instrumentation or a BEngTech qualification in Process Instrumentation and entering your final year of study in 2023
  • Industrial Engineering Bursary: You must be studying towards a BEng or BSc (Eng) qualification in Industrial Engineering and entering your 4th year of study in 2023
  • Mechanical Engineering : You must be studying towards a BEng or BSc (Eng) qualification in Mechanical Engineering and entering your 3rd year of study in 2023
  • Mechanical Engineering Bursary: You must be studying towards a National Diploma qualification in Process Instrumentation or a BEngTech qualification in Process Instrumentation and entering your final year of study in 2023
  • Physical Metallurgy / Material Science Bursary: You must be studying towards a BEng or BSc (Eng) qualification in Physical Metallurgy or Material Science and entering your 3rd year of study in 2023
  • You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60%

Documents Required For The Columbus Stainless Bursary Programme

The following documentation is required and must be submitted along with your application. You must submit clear copies of the supporting documents, this is compulsory and if any of the documents are missing your application will not be considered.
