It is a South African and French railway rolling stock manufacturer. Which was founded by Ubumbano Rail, Alstom, and New Africa Rail. In 2013 this manufacturer had to replace the ageing metro fleet with a new modern service.

About The Gibela Bursary 

They are inviting students, to apply for their bursary programme for 2023. They will be providing bursaries for studies at universities, universities of technology and TVET colleges.

The following expenses are covered by the bursary programme:

For Students At TVET Colleges:
  • Tuition Fees
  • Book Allowance

For Students At University and University of Technology:
  • Book Allowance
  • Tuition Fees
  • Accommodation
  • Meals

Eligibility Criteria For The Gibela Bursary Programme.

The following are the minimum requirements. If you do not meet the following requirements your application will not be considered.

For TVET Students:
  • You need to be a citizen of South Africa.
  • You must be in Matric in 2022; must have completed it either.
  • You need to have a minimum result of level 4 for Mathematics, Science and English in Matric.
  • You need to study in or intend to study towards a qualification, in one of the streams afore-mentioned in 2023.
  • You must study or plan to study at an accredited Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution in South Africa.
  • You must have a good academic profile and show potential for academic laurels.
  • You must be in need of assistance.
  • Current N3 and N4 students should apply

For University and University of Technology Students:
  • You must be a citizen of South African
  • You need to be in Matric in 2022; must have completed it either.
  • You must have a minimum result of level 6 for Mathematics, Physical Science and Accounting in Matric
  • You must have a minimum of result level 5 for English in Matric
  • You need to study in or intend to study towards a qualification, in one of the streams afore-mentioned in 2023.
  • You must study or plan to study at an accredited University or the University of Technology in South Africa.
  • You must have a good academic profile and show potential for academic laurels.
  • You must be in need of assistance.
  • Current 1st and 2nd-year students should apply.

Documents Required For The Gibela Bursary Programme

The following documents are required for the bursary programme, and you must submit clear copies of them. If you do not submit all the following documentation your application will not be considered.
  • Certified copy of your ID.
  • Certified Copies of academic record
  • Your resume/CV
  • Proof of income of parents and/or guardians
  • TVET students: proof on letterhead of admission acceptance from a TVET institution in South Africa
  • University and University of Technology students: proof on letterhead of admission acceptance from a University or the University of Technology in South Africa
